I found this article informative

I was thinking of this article when I made my post about Black grades. The article starts off well and then can't get to a logical conclusion. It gives you facts and antidotes about the problems, but never puts it all together. Didja notice that?

It has to be some of that, FL.

Not sure if special schooling for gifted and talented kids existed when I was in public school, anywhere in the country, but certainly not in Baton Rouge.

If you are only a couple of standard deviations above norm, you have advantages, but the further from the norm, the harder it is to fit in.

Doesn't matter whether you are white or black, male or female, it's hard being different.

Hi FL...Did you notice this statement?

Those kinds of attitudes reflect a long history of adapting to oppression and stymied opportunities, said Professor Ogbu, a Nigerian immigrant who has written that involuntary black immigrants behave like low-status minorities in other societies.

What is an "involuntary black immigrant"???

and

What does "behave like low-status minorities in other societies" mean? What other society?

I've been called a racist for saying those very things. Good article.
