Sam -- Thanks for the post. I think we are watching the beginning of a movement similar to Solidarity in Poland. I have discussed similar issues with several Muslim friends. They are certainly ashamed and concerned about the terrorist ramifications.

Sam, Nice post. unfortunatly Dr. Ali Shariatie was killed by Shah in the seventies. He was one of the most important factors for Islam to get more poplar in Iran in the seventies and Khomeinie to use the populariety of Islam to advance what was not the good doctors understanding of Islam.
