So why should he be right now?

Well let's examine this. The thesis is inflation will drive longer term rates higher. The Fed has "said" they will monetize the debt bubble. Hmm... So for Gross to be wrong the Fed has to be able to monetize debt and simultaneously keep longer rates at historic lows. Interesting trick if you can pull it off. We'll see.
