Viisage Tech/Outlook: Won Pacts In Georgia, Delaware

LITTLETON, Mass. (Dow Jones)--Viisage Technology Inc. boosted its 2002 revenue guidance, citing two important contracts obtained in the fourth quarter.
Viisage now anticipates posting revenue of $32 million in 2002. The company previously had expected revenue of between $29 million and $31 million.

The digital identification system maker received contracts to develop digital drivers' license programs in Georgia and Delaware. The Georgia pact is worth $20 million over six years. Information on the value of the Delaware contract wasn't immediately available.

Viisage continues to grow its facial recognition business, President and Chief Executive Bernard Bailey said in the release.

Viisage expects to announce its fourth-quarter results Feb. 18.

Viisage closed Tuesday at $5.11, up 41 cents, or 8.7%, on volume of 510,815 shares. Average daily volume is 161,330 shares.
