Ken,

We can't talk about the world's reactions to US actions? Isn't how the world views America central to FADG? I don't understand.

BTW, I wasn't saying anything about the chances for the Democrats in the future. I was saying that it appears to me that the consensus amongst the leadership is to attack Bush's intentions rather than his actions and policies. I wasn't even criticizing that position. I was countering John's argument that it wasn't a mainstream position.

It was right on point with the article Bill posted, which was right on point for this group, as I understood it. Anti-americanism played an important part in the event of 9-11 and subsequent world affairs. Ambivalence about america may indeed be one of the few core forces shaping world events today.

The author's assertion that it has become paradigmatic is an essential observation. If it is accurate, we would do well to understand the scope, progress and operation of that paradigm. If we fail we are shooting in the dark.

That you and John disagree that it is happening does not mean it isn't happening. It simply means that there is an opportunity to discuss the issue. Heaven forbid we need to limit our dicussion to only the topics we agree upon. We would have to start the "Bush's Domestic Policy Sucks" board for that conversation.

I think I have stated my reason for thinking this thread is on-topic. Please consider my argument and reconsider your banning the thread.

Best Regards,
Paul

the Republicans only lead in the state election by a scant, oh say, 0.0001% to 5% nationwide so what's the problem for the Demos? This can change in a heartbeat -- and will. Great points, thank you, Ken!!! :)
