GW, <Why do Republicans seem to believe that only Democrats do polling?>

Democrats haven't taken a strong stand on anything because of their heavy reliance on polls. That's a major reason why they lost in this year's election. Even the "liberal media" is reporting how the Democrats lacked an agenda.

<America's role in the world has changed. They can no longer be the isolationists they once were.>

Well that's obvious, or else we wouldn't be in Iraq, and we'd instead be following the advice of Pat "Kick the UN out of Manhattan" Buchanan.

<Clinton was president eight years running by polls.>

Why do Republicans seem to believe that only Democrats do polling? Let's face it, every party, company, charity, University etc. runs on polls. Most any public institution does not make a move without finding where the populace support lies.

Forgetting for a moment his dalliances, Clinton has a great mind and incredible instincts particularly when it comes to gauging the mood of the people. Because of Monica L., the Reps. have been able to discredit him and that's caused the Dems. to shun him......foolishly. But now the Dems are in disarray and there is a leadership vacuum. Clinton is simply stepping into that vacuum, and that scares the bejezus out of the Reps.

If Clinton can get back his groove, he will make the shrub look like the ranch hand that he is! ;~))

You may have missed it, but we just came through eight years of having our nation run into the ground by a president without a backbone who couldn't take a leak without first taking a poll.

Running a nation by polls is NOT a good thing to do. And there is absolutely NO evidence to suggest that the current administration is "run by polls". The most authoritative voice on the subject, that of Bob Woodward, has in fact made it crystal clear that Bush does NOT run the country based on polls. Are the political concerns? Of course. But Bush is a man with a spine, and clearly doesn't need to take a poll to decide what his next move as president should be (if this were not the case, he would do just as Clinton did, and ignore the proliferation of WMD by Iraq).
