Grace, Question - Since you are knowledgeable in the area, did you mean from Solaris to Linux, or did you mean some other version of Unix to Linux, or were you just implying that there is less there than meets the eye??? <g>

if you comfortable with unix ... it's not a big deal to install a 39 dollar linux software on 100 boxes or 500 boxes.....if you running on c shell or korn shell..(or bourne shell)...or whatever...it's not a big deal to do it in bourne again shell....freeware is freeware....smoke and mirrors i say...i think sun will always have a niche...BWDIK....If i'm ever forced to buy another peice of MSFT software...i'll be the first to let you know....

Grace, I listened to IBM's CC and they made a big issue out of that migration from a services perspective. No numbers but it was definitely a growing piece of their business.

Not much. Consulting sucks big time. All these consultants based in India and China, will do cheap. IBM is for real wake up call, Gestner & CO took shareholders to cleaners.
