i would say cost of development of anything is going way down. Cost of time to market. Way down. Any skills you don't have with software. You probably learn on the fly at a new job. Kids got all kinds of skills these days. IBM might be selling you a pig in a poke. You don't need IBM to run linux. give me a break. Lol.....Just like you don't need microsoft to surf, send email, chat...ftp and ssh....(if you really wanna play)....
