our winter normally is not much snow at all.

Yes, I know, that is what made the trip not only interesting for me, but for the locals. I was staying in an old Army Barracks at Fort Worden, (It was the site where "An Officer and a Gentleman" was filmed) and got up on a Friday Morning to find the cars almost up to their roofs with snow. We trudged over to the Mess Hall for Breakfast, and had a wonderful time.
