No analogy is perfect. The Algerian one sheds more light than most, but only if it's interpreted with pre-67 Israel being the "mainland" and the territories being the colony. Even then it has a big problem, which is the lack of a major natural barrier (e.g., the Mediterranean) separating the two, making it possible for withdrawal to actually end things.

It's worth noting, however, that some Arabs use the Algerian analogy in a different way, with all of Israel as the colony and Europe as the homeland. That way, of course, the "Algerian solution" means the end of Israel in toto, not just withdrawal from the settlements...
