Aside from baiting LindyB and Nadine, your comment is baseless as there has not been a hint on eithers' part about the left being unpatriotic I will actually give John the benefit of the doubt here as I think that American left either hates America, is anti-American, or something similar is just a sloppy formulation. What I actually said was the that the Marxist-derived immiseration premise was the unexamined assumption behind a lot of left-wing political and environmental stances. But you're right, the way he puts does slide into accusations of calling the whole American left America-haters, which neither I nor LB have ever done.
