Guilty pleasures - I LOVE to sit back in my leather Morris chair and listen to the dishwasher, washing machine, drier, hot water heater, and HVAC all going at once.

If I've got one of the kids pushing around the vacuum cleaner and the other using the electric floor mopper thingie, even better.;^)

And then I HATE to turn the page and see pictures of starving children living in hovels.

Litmus test: when you see a picture of a starving child in a hovel, do you wish you had less or wish they had more?

Confession: I wish they had more although I don't do much about it except pay taxes, donate to charities and give at church. Oh, and vote.

If I gave up my SUV and did like Lindy, rode a motorscooter to Costco, would that make the world a better place?

This sounds flip -- what would the Arabs feed their children if we all gave up SUVs?

This is why I call it guilty pleasures.

Sort of like the smell of napalm in the morning.
