Terry <<I wonder if Lindsey was forced out so that the Whilte House could back away from this 'crazy idea'?

I do not know why Lindsey was forced out. He is smart and seems like the type that would let the administration know the future risks of different policy options. I am sure if asked he would continue to be available for his thoughts.

More than likely these two changes are simply political and the press is taking it positively to the public. The stock market will go up, lay offs will stop, companies will start spending, the consumer will continue spending - the world is in go go mode again.

Bush seems to have a problem quickly getting people in positions to get the show on the road - how long is it now that we have been without a SEC head? The staffers in Washington will do nothing but day to day administrative stuff until they get leadership in these positions and nothing will change until replacements are made. Another side of the coin that is interesting is the vice president seems to be in the middle of these political decisions.

I personally think these two fellows were smart to get out. Have I mentioned lately that this thing is going to end badly. <g>
