<< I just don't see the majority of muslims wishing to impose their religion, or rule over the rest of the world. >>

I have not seen, or heard, ONE Muslim who recognizes Israel's right to exist. All of their leaders are always pleading with the American public to recognize Muslim family's right to exist, in peace, in America, but they don't support the same thing for Jews and other non-Muslims.

When Muslim mosques, in America, stop teaching hatred towards Christians and Jews, then I might start believing that they aren't taking their entrenched bigotry and hatred into this country.

<< But please feel free to relate your own experiences with muslims... I'm sure you have a number of muslim friends as well... >>

They're all dead.

>>But they have a very noisy and militant minority who seem to capture the media's attention which ignoring Islam's own "silent majority" of moderates.<<

"...who seem to capture..."

Unfortunately silent majorities do not make *good* news stories. The media more and more these days, above all else, produces a product. The noisy and militant minority also have something to sell. So there's a natural symbiosis at work that is, in a maddening sort of way, aggravating the problem. One side needs publicity, the other side needs something dramatic and riveting to present.

Terrorism and the threat of terrorism is riveting. Silent moderation and the threat of continued silent moderation isn't.

So not only do the moderates need to risk standing up against the terrorists, they sadly also need to risk being widely ignored by the media for doing so.
