OTOTOT I saw the CNBC interview with Tom Friedman. He really impressed me. I do believe that Bush is thinking long term now...much more than I believed at first. However, the administration refuses to connect poverty/illiteracy with seeds of terrorism (at least publically). Instead they start talking about "evil doers"...which is probably interpretted differently elsewhere and only makes the militant position stronger in those countries.
