MoneyPenny: I have Kraft and Kellog also Sara Lee (almost forgot). Bought that one years ago as Legg's Hosiery in the egg that thrilled me. It was a wonderful buy as Hanes at $5.00 sh in '74.

The hidden value in SURE is its function to eradicate fruit flies and other pests in perishable shipments coming in to the States from all over the Pacific Southern Hemispheres. So much tonnage is left out because shippers are afraid to have cargos detained or rejected by the USDA.

Recently, a $180,000 shipment of precooked Italian thin sliced holiday ham was rejected because of a tiny amount of bacteria revealed by newly installed ultra sensitive lab instruments. This product has been coming in for years without incident. What a blow to the exporter!

Good luck.

I thought you would enjoy the patter taking place about wines on that board. I believe you once said you had a daughter living near the wine country.

The Chinese can undercut most anything we produce in California. They have no bottom line. Canned tomato products are even showing up here in the home of the "Big Tomato" (the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys). God help us if the wineries move their operations some day into Asia.

Spain and Morocco have taken away our Olive producers. The high tech industry has replaced those revenues once provided by agriculture. And the real estate business has flourished on the conversion of Ag land to residential as population growth here continues unabated.

Winter snow in the vineyards today. Merry Xmas.
