"Do you need to be reminded that the so-called "axis of evil" included Iran, which has had nothing whatsoever to do with any killing of any civilians to mention? "

Iran/Syria/Hizbollah

I am not advocation attacking moslem countries. I just see regime changes as a positive phenomena even if pinochet replaces folks who fund terror or same in iraq replacing meglomaniacal saddam and so on. The projection of american power is a positive for our interests and probably for those of folks in the region. mike

zonder,
By the way i think we are about to resume rally. 5% decline in the dow after an almost 2000 point run and folks are saying no rally in place. Have been reading your posts on Dons thread and replies to MH. Think you got it right. Bush will do all he can to stop eco malaise from continuing, not only for re-election but his foreign policy sort of depends on an upbeat economy as well. mike

Do you need to be reminded that the so-called "axis of evil" included Iran, which has had nothing whatsoever to do with any killing of any civilians to mention? They have been keeping pretty much to themselves,

You seem to be forgetting the Karine A affair. Iran sold 50 tons of weapons to Arafat. He purchased these weapons using $10 million given by the Europeans to the Palestinians. If the ship had not been intercepted the weapons would have been used for killing Jews.

Iran also backs Hezbollah (which they also helped found) as well as Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Although it is in the early stages, Iran is also believed to be developing a covert nuclear weapons program. They have also purchased ballistic missile technology from North Korea.

It remains to be seen whether or not reformist elements in their government along with a discontented public will shift the country towards modernity and away from terrorism
