LOL, poor Ish didn't get it.......... Busy renovating this shitty house we bought. One surprise after another. Seems building codes don't exist in France. The walls of 4 rooms were wallpapered with carpet, gives a new meaning to wall to wall carpeting.... damned near impossible to remove the shit without destroying the drywall. In the hallway, they had the bright idea to put cork tiles on the ceiling. Impossible to remove. So I'm going to just put drywall over the whole thing. Easier said than done. I spent my entire morning yesterday finding the joists to screw into.... Figured find one, then it's a simple mathematical problem of finding all the others, you'd think anyway. Nope, some are 55 cm apart, others 65cm, some are not square so one side of the hallway it's 55cm, the other side it's 65. I may not be much of a handyman, but even I could build a house better than that. House was built in the early 70's, builders and decorators must have been on an acid trip at the time, only explanation I can come up with...... My wife sometimes thinks that we should sell it and build our own house, but then I remind her why we bought it in the first place. location. He parents are a 15 minute walk away, all the neighbors she's known all her life and I've known them all for at least 12 years. All friends and all ready to help out with something at a moments notice. That has no price. So we'll sort out the problems 1 by 1. Heck it's only a year we've been here, no one can expect everything to be perfect. I have painting to do, take care.....
