OT: Campus housing.

If they had done this when I was on campus, the screams of "Segregation" would have filled the air. From The Washington Times.

Any particular reason why you did not label this off topic, Bill. If you considered it part of a discussion of foreign affairs, it would help if you could offer some reasons.

My take:

1. It's from the Washington Times. Almost enough said right there. Thus, the odds that the article is only ideological attack are about 9 to 1, conservatively speaking. Oops. Pun intended. Perhaps you or someone else could explain why this article should be taken seriously despite the fact it was published by the Moonies. Otherwise known as an arm of the right wing of the Republican Party.

2. The obvious ideological frame of the article is even more apparent if you ask why the largely white dominated fraternities and sororities are not mentioned as also constituting segregation.

3. Unless one can offer a serious reason wny not, the article appears to be simple minority bashing.

4. The issue raised is actually a serious issue with no easy or simple answer. As I say far too often, it's complicated and it takes folks who care about students to untangle them. This kind of bashing helps no one. Thankfully, it's published in the Washington Times which is not read by anyone. ;-) Just couldn't pass that one up.
