Yes, America has done "good things" and even when it has followed its interests and meddled in other countries' affairs, it was not unexpected.

Your post is one way of looking at things. There is of course another - US stepped in right away in Kuwait because they could not afford Saddam controlling the oil, Clinton stepped in Bosnia two years after the atrocities started because he needed to change the headlines from "Monica sucked the cigar" or something, etc...

I am sorry but I cannot spend half a day fishing out links and giving dates for all this. If you want to believe that the US always intervened in other places out of the goodness of their collective heart, please be my guest.
