>>Nobody is mad enough to believe that the US public will ever side with the incineration of millions of civilians, babies, etc a la Hiroshima.<<

Not sure what the Blue Zone thinks about this, but the Red Zone will approve of it. Right now the Red Zone is in charge of the government.

I was referring to the argument made by anti-war elements that we ought to rely upon deterrence to control a nuclear-armed Saddam. Nuclear deterrence means threatening to incinerate an enemies population. A pretty horrible thing and not something I would want to have to rely upon.

Nobody is mad enough to believe that the US public will ever side with the incineration of millions of civilians, babies, etc a la Hiroshima.

Well, that's a good refutation of the nuclear deterrence argument. I agree! That's why we need to prevent Saddam from developing nuclear weapons - even if that means a conventional war to unseat his regime. I'm glad to see you now agree with me that deterrence of a nuclear armed Saddam would never work.

And that the US administration will ever risk nuclear fallout in Israel. Oops, you did not think of that, did you?

Of course, I have. And not just Israel but even more Iran, Jordan, Syria, Kuwait, and all the Persian Gulf countries.

Don't be too sure about that zonder. CB talked about the Red Zone and the Blue Zone...If the US gets hit with something, most probably it will be in the Blue Zone. Don't think for a minute that if the US is hit again, with anything, that the entire country won't rise up.

They will. With whatever and whoever is left in whatever Zone. Anger simmers here as well zonder. It's not boiling as yet zonder. But it's there, nonetheless.

In the case of the US, it cannot work, imho. Nobody is mad enough to believe that the US public will ever side with the incineration of millions of civilians, babies, etc a la Hiroshima. And that the US administration will ever risk nuclear fallout in Israel. Oops, you did not think of that, did you?
