Excellent post, Buddy. I copied it to the folks here at the office to whom I have been trying to explain my discomfort with the talking heads' use of LIBERAL or CONSERVATIVE labels. You said it better than I could.

I can't think of a single person whom I could accurately describe with one word, let alone entire groups of people.

Libertarians believe that individuals shouldn't subsidize services the individual doesn't use. Libertarians believe that fair tax policy is not tied to an individual's means. Thus, a fair tax, by libertarian standards, would exclude the current graduated income tax scheme as well as any flat tax based on a percentage of income.

Are you really a libertarian? Do you really believe in 'fair' taxes?
