I think a moderate stimulus package would help also - maybe
$ 100 billion or so - 1/2 tax cuts for the middle income levels and below - and 1/2 spending (maybe some help to the states, etc.) - would help.

And - they should reconcile their differences, and pass
the extension to unemployment. This is outrageous - to let
that lapse in this slow recovery.

Homeland Security will create many jobs... The rebuilding of the World Trade Center should create tens of thousands of jobs... All of this should begin taking place in early 2003... In the meantime, Iraq, Al Qaeda, Venezuela, Enronitis, Small Pox talk, and Trent Lott's loose lips are weighing on the market... After a rocky Monday we'll see if the market will offer Holiday Cheer...
