But this is no problem? The FDR administration conducted secret trials AND EXECUTIONS. The LBJ administration spied on domestic anti-war groups. " And if you're interested in other niceties FDR's administration was up, read "A Man Called Intrepid". It's about British activities in this country before WW2. It makes you wonder if we shouldn't have impeached FDR and declared war on Britain. Oh, and the author isn't anti-FDR or anti-British; he's PRO.using taxpayer money to secretly influence policies favorable to the DOD establishment and cronies. Is that a criticism of covert use of taxpayer money or only if favors DOD?The "Crusade" word was warned against, and Junior used it once again. Know something? After 9/11, I DON'T GIVE A D**N! Talk to me again after the Saudis apologize for funding the schools that produce the sort of people who ram jetloads of people into skyscrapers full of people. The important parts of the act converting OSS to CIA and other agencies is still secret -- I'll find the links. If this is so secret, how is you can access it over the internet? Re: Taxes and debt -- Money ain't free. ANY gov't spending is a tax on the people and the economy, one way or another, no way around it, it must be paid for, it's just a question of when. It's unbelievable that otherwise rational people such as yourself still cling to the idea that running up massive debt isn't a tax on current and future taxpayers, if that's what you're saying. If you don't understand the fact that money borrowed must be repaid, we'll have a hard time communicating. Sure, it temporarily pumps the economy, and unlike current taxes gets paid LATER. But it is still a hidden tax, which must be paid, carries an interest penalty, and reduces the solvency of the country, which must be made up through inflation, greater taxes, or elimination of other gov't spending. You think you need to tell any of that to a conservative? Save that speech for a liberal; they're the ones who keep forgetting. And nevertherless, taxes, debt, and inflation are different things. Inflation is what you get when the gov't won't own up to what it did and tax to pay off the debt it accumulated.
