Hi Searle,

Funny how Lott went out of his way to placate the Dems all these years and now they impale him first chance they get. Since he was at a Birthday party when he made his lame statement he was probably half crocked anyway.

Of course, when a liberal says I'm sorry about a dumb statement, such as Jessie Jackson who called New York "Hymietown" we're all supposed to forgive, but when anyone else, say baseball pitcher John Rocker makes a stupid and alleged racist statement and apologizes we're told by the same people that what he said came from his heart so he can't just get away with an apology.

Anyone with a brain can see that SA was improving under the old regime...mainly because of overseas companies investing in infrastructure which was having the effect of slowly pushing blacks into higher standards of living. Changing govs set everything back 20 years. And given your murder rate lately there should have been a lot more votes for the old days. I would also point out that the old regime would have been seen in an even better light by SA blacks if it hadn't have been for the US embargo that took away a lot of the economic opportunity which otherwise would have been there for the black population.
