Then I stand corrected.

Not as much as you might think. I have hung with a lot of Objectivists (At meetings and a summer conference years ago.) It tends to attract people who are low on compassion. Nobody is setting around weeping for the underdog. I would doubt if the amount of Charity in this group would hit the same level as an American average.
