you are nuttier than a fruitcake. Well at least I'm not an emptyheaded pseudo-Christian hypocrite. I'm a nut, but I am still true to my faith. I could just as easily make the case that slavery actually hindered the progress of industry in America because many things were slow to be invented since there were plenty of slaves to do the jobs that machines came to do. Well then try to make this case. Just saying this crap ain' nothin'. Try and make the case and you will see how utterly ridiculous it is (well, maybe YOU won't see it, but an honest and intelligent person would). Slavery was a means of survival for the American colonies. The colonists just did not have time to sit around trying to invent junk when the fields needed to be plowed NOW, when the seed needed to be quickly put in the ground NOW, when the crops needed to be tended NOW, when the harvest needed to be made NOW. It is only AFTER a surplus is established that people can invent higher technologies. The tyranny of the urgent required a very quick and cheap source of labor. And that simply did not allow for folks to sit around and invent junk when they could quickly and cheaply force blacks to do it. Have you fallen out of a tree and hit your head? You must have gotten that out of some liberal psyche book. Do you think man did not know how to work until a slave showed him? Dang. Some folks is just plain dumb. They can't even connect the friggin' dots and see what folks is saying. You know, Prolife, I really shouldn't have to hold your dang hand on this, explaining every dang thang to you. GOD, not man, blessed mw with the ability to work, and I got paid an honest wage for that work, as did the man next to me. God may have blessed you with your abilities, but you now employ your abilities in an economy the historical foundation of which rests upon slavery. Surely inventions came later to replace slave labor. But that is just it, they REPLACED the labor, and this only after sufficient surplusses allowed the inventions to come about. This is simple dang economics. Stuff you should have been able to figure out on your own. pay who? pay how much? pay what? give me names. Very well then. Prolife needs to pay his country in lunacy, giving it up in exchange for some dang sense when it comes to the history of his country and of his black countrymen. That kind of payment will go very far to repair the broken roof of our collective house. All this whining about your not owing anyone anything is just a big fat lie. Someone forced ill-gotten gains upon you in the form of American society. Yet it is a good society. One may give back many of those ill-gotten gains by making a deliberate effort not to be a blame fool. One can not be a blame fool by, for example, coming to the defense of his own dang brother (!) when someone else insults him or in any way denies him his fundamental claim upon this country simply because of his "race." we pay every day with our taxes. Many paid with their lives to free the slaves. I suppose you need to pay a dead Union soldiers family 20 gazillion dollars for his lost heritage and ability to provide for his family and the kids he never had...on and on and on...... So danged narrow minded. When will folks stop being such danged loonies? Will it ever happen? Will it? It is entirely possible to pay real reparations to blacks and ourselves without writing dang checks left and right. What you need to do is think outside of the dang box, a thing I just can't imagine you doing. find your way back to reality. Now not only I have to pay, but the minorities have to pay too??....GEEEEEZ, Johannes, that is just called brotherhood, Well I don't be seeing much of it, Prolife. Yes. Brotherhood is EXACTLY what I am talking about. And we need to pay this. But the problem is, we got a deeply wounded brother on our hands. Now what we gon' do about it? Keep acting like danged idiots while our brother is messed up and getting even more messed up because folks just keep writing him checks while other folks just keep insulting him. I mean dang! There are folks in the dang GOP right now whose agenda is to cause all whites to gang up on blacks and either murder them or kick them out of the dang country. David Duke is in the GOP, has held leadership positions in the party and yet he wants to marginalize blacks when blacks have every dang bit of right to be here as he has. No dang way blacks are gonna feel able to claim their right and strive as freely as we do with that dang kinda sword of Damocles over them. But they live with that mess every dang day. Since I see them as my brothers, I do not tolerate that crap at all - not at friggin' all. I owe that to them as but one of many cheap but highly effective ways of paying reparations. I owe this because I am an American, just like them. and yes Christian can and do help the helpless and feed the hungry, and etc etc....it is called being a good neighbor.....not reparations. Well, try to broaden your dang mind and think from a point-of-view that ain't your dang chicken coop's point of dang view. Paying money ain't no dang reparations and we ought not accept that as a dang definition.
