Actually, I'm lukewarm on registration at best. It makes it easy for the gov't to hunt down otherwise law-abiding citizens who shoot their wives or husbands in a fit of rage.

It will do nothing about professional crooks and gang members, though. Somehow I think their guns will be unregistered.

Gun registration is highly useful to the gov't if it ever decides an armed citizenry is bad for ITS health, though.

Texas has a "right to carry concealed weapons" law. It also has one of the lower crime rates among the states. Including murder.
