I think you missed the whole point. Bezos making the Time man of the year marked the top of the internet bubbble and the high of his stock price right before it crashed. My point was maybe if the suicide bombers made the cover, they would go away as well. I don't want to get dragged into this middle east thing as BOTH sides have valid points. As for Cuba taking Florida, isn't that the way history works? Texas and California weren't European but we took them and will keep them. My understanding from an unbiased viewpoint and history is the Muslums were in there first but some script told the others to go there because it was somehow ordained to be the holy land and it was settled. After all, they are the chosen people just like every other religion's people claim to be. Name me one religion where they aren't proclaimed to be the chosen ones and the only ones to be right. We wouldn't be fighting all the time if every swinging d*& didn't think their clan was the only right one and all the others should be vanquished. I am NOT defending the Lebonese either. Blowing up non-combatants is wrong, ESPECIALLY when done on purpose and not "collateral damage". If some country blew up my kids on a bus, I would hijack a B-52 and level the place myself. What they are doing is about as low as a person or group can go but they believe in what they are doing just as much as every other religious freak and mindless soldier. Heck, they are all just cults! Call them Jim Brown, the Waco Whackos, the chosen one is coming or a UFO is going to take us away. There isn't much difference and there is no shortage of people that will believe anything you preach if you program them right and from a young enough age. As for Iraq, we should have finished the first time. I am ready to go again and do so this time. However, if someone told me as a national leader I couldn't fly above my own country above Iowa or below Arkansas, I would be shooting at their planes too. Especially if my kids were starving and denied medical care. Of course if I had a leader like Saddam, I would also be driving up to DC with a 50 cal bull barrel rifle to do some target practice. -g- Personally I think the whole sticking area should be nuked so we could start over. The Dems you love so well let Saddam get away with everything and used the military just to divert attention away from their misdeeds. Now it is a little too late to do much over there as everything is tucked away and hidden too well to find. After 10 years, we are going to have to bomb them into the stone age, fight house to house and turn over every grain of sand to find their nukes and chemical weapons. The damn things are hidden in houses, schools, and holy places we aren't allowed to bomb. In the process of re-opening this war, we will likely have to endure terrorist attacks here on our soil, take on the rest of the Arab nations and probably tick off some allies that are wimps anyway like France, Italy etc and some allies that aren't wimps but want no part of this like Germany. In the process, Isriael will get hit by ticked off Muslems worse than now, we will have the US looking like Israel does now with bombs going off everywhere and for what? Better to leave Iraq alone, let the CIA take care of things quietly from within or let Saddam let down his guard so we can do things easier when he tips his hand. There are factions in there that can act as our army and do the hand to hand for us if need be. Then afterwards, there will likely be civil wars for another 10 years as each tribe claims to be the rightful leader. It will be a mess no matter what we do. We have stuff in the works now that will make warfare much easier in a few years with cleaner better accuracy and make nukes look like stone tipped spears. For once, time is on our side. Patience and let research and testing finish. Later we can zap his sorry butt and get on with life. I have always admired the policies of Israel. Their ten teeth for a tooth and policy of if you grab our people, we count them as dead already so you you will not escape and you will die, no ifs ands or buts is the way I feel things should be handled and they have stuck to it mostly. Screw negotions with zeolites. Hurt them more than you and let them know the end game before they act. I am shocked that they haven't leveled Lebanon by now and keep wondering when they will finally let it all hang out and get it over with as well. Regardless, 2000 years of fighting over that piece of turf is silly. In the age of science, technology and understanding, groups of people fighting over such an unstable area just because a couple of documents and stories from back when the earth was considered flat and the earth was the center of the universe is just plain silly. I guess that explains why people still buy MU and think CSCO will see $100 again. Why people don't understand that is beyond me. The same people that make fun of indian culture or that lead could be turned into gold believe their own mythology. There are probably people out there that are still searching for the holy grail. Thank goodness for sheeple, otherwise we wouldn't have laborers to take advantage of. There, this post should get some hate mail flowing. Is there any group I didn't tick off in this post.
