ru2, you can trade CKG and SJD (and all Canadian mining stocks)thru Ameritrade, but you need to do it by phone through a broker (ask for a broker to trade on the Canadian exchanges). The fee is approximately $30 for any number of shares. Several folks here speak highly of the brokerage Penntrade for trading of Canadian stocks but unfortunately it's not available in all states including mine.

<I currently am holding kgc and HMY. Do you have an opinion on those? > The rise in gold price could be neutralized by the rise in the AS Rand as far as HMY is concerned. No opinion on KGC. I prever the juniors and some mid-tiers. My favorites: GLG and IAG on the AMex.. but on weakness only. The problem is gold. Everybody seems to be convinced that this is a bull and gold is going to $400. I am not. We'ved now reached a new zone of resistance ($343-$354 that will be as hard to go through as the $325-330 level was. As far as I am concerned, a bull will not be confirmed before we move above $414. Early signs will be when we exceed $375. Until then everything is possible. So not all stocks are buy and hold. A tough and very voloatile game.
