Rush Limbaugh: I'll give you an example of his lies. The day Kerry was in the news Rush devoted a show to attacking him. He stated Kerry was for raising taxes. In fact Kerry has just made it quite clear he is for an immediate payroll tax cut which the White House may now have to copy-cat because their own cuts don't makefiscal sense. That right there is a MAJOR lie. Minor lies like Kerry's $150 haircut are silly, but combined with other little lies (a la Gore's "I invented the internet" which he never said) like Kerry threw away his medals, etc., this can have a growing disinformational affect, which is exactly what they want. In Kerry's case, however, the Limbaughs of the world are going to have a much harder time to think of anything that sticks. The best they can come up with will probably be that he's a "Massachusetts liberal". Sounds weak except he's a major war hero, he's no Dukakis, would look great in a tank and has moved to the center in recent years. For instance he did not vote or agree with Kennedy on Iraq or public health care. He will however propose a long-range plan to get us completely off Arab oil without drilling in our last wilderness areas. It will be intelligently thought out and visionary. And America will finally listen, as addiction to "Arab oil" we now know is at the heart of many of our most ornery problems. Believe me we pay a lot more than $1.50 a gallon for that gasoline when you figure in all the defense, security and terrorism costs.
