The other thing that struck me was when Ajami pointed out that the more money we have given the Egyptians, the more they dislike us. One outcome of this War we are in should be a change in the way we deal with Egypt.

It's nothing more than the natural proclivity of mankind to take what he has for granted, and extorting the system for even more...

Even as kids, we never believed the allowance some of us received (I never received on) was never enough.. and we would resent our parents for not giving us more.

Same principle... when you have to buy your "friends", you'll find that friendship gradually casting you more and more as the years go by.

interesting. reactions have been a bit mixed so far--I gather the staff wasn't too impressed with it. perhaps it depends on one's politics. curious what others think...
