Ted Re.. Why do you think the Dixiecrats jumped the Dem party and went to the GOP? The dixicrats changed sides because of Nixons southern strategy. However, the republicans don't need the old dixicrats anymore, and have decided to abandon them. Which is the exact opposite the Dems have done with their losers Bill and Condit. GW wants to get a greater percentage of minority voters, without going to quotas; ergo dump the dixicrats. The dems, Kennedy it el. are still pushing quotas, and quotas are getting to be looked at as racist. So, who is the racist now? The problem is for the GOP, not the Dems. Not any more? However the dems still have Byrd and all of the liberals, Kennedy, Clinton et el, pushing racist quotas.
