Ted Re.. Why do you think the Dixiecrats jumped the Dem party and went to the GOP? The dixicrats changed sides because of Nixons southern strategy. However, the republicans don't need the old dixicrats anymore, and have decided to abandon them. The have? Because they won't make Lott Senate Majority Leader? Whatever you say! Which is the exact opposite the Dems have done with their losers Bill and Condit. GW wants to get a greater percentage of minority voters, without going to quotas; ergo dump the dixicrats. Bush only dropped Lott after his most recent racist remarks. I know this may come as a shock to you but that's nearly 40 years after major civil rights legislation was passed. Were you trying to show us how progressive Bush is? The dems, Kennedy it el. are still pushing quotas, and quotas are getting to be looked at as racist. So, who is the racist now?
