America's prestige is almost gone around the world under Bush. The ugly American is back. And the world that used to love us now distrusts us. At least in gneral terms. It's not so much what Bushies do (though some of that is odious like pulling out of Kyoto Treaty after Bush promised during the campaign to sign it) but its the way they do it. Colin Powell has been the saving grace there. He's made us look less rash and selfish. Powell has managed to minimize the anti-American backlash not just in the third world but in our key ally countries.
