First and foremost, let me say that I do not particularly like any religion. Having said that, let us look at your points: What I do say and have said in the past is that the religion of islam is bad, the way it is worded the violence the sex. Could you give some quotes? I have read the Quran, the Bible, and the Torah, mainly to be able to say "You are wrong, it does not say so" to the religious nuts. What I can say, comparatively, is that there is no more sexual or violent "badness" in the Quran than in the other two books that precede it. Or are you not familiar with the story of Elisha, where God sends down two she-bears to tear thirty-odd children into bloody bits, because they made fun of the bald head of Elisha, who was apparently a holy man? Can you explain to me just how the story of Lot and the two virgin daughters he offers an army of soldiers "to do as they please" so that they will leave him alone, is any more acceptable sexually than what you read in the Quran? The fact is, no religion is any more civilized than any other. The difference is that Christians have made their own revolution and do not care so much for their religion in their daily lives, and Muslims have not yet gone through this process and are still living in the dark ages of their religion. The religion of islam can be and is used as a weapon to kill. And the Christian religion has never been used as a weapon to kill? Let me point you in the direction of the witch hunts of European dark ages, where tens of thousands of single women (and some men) whose only crime was perhaps having a mole or two on their faces were burnt at the stake as ordered by their religion. ("Suffer not a witch to live" - Exodus 22:18 ) Or are you perhaps not familiar with the wonderful world of Inquisition that has reigned terror throughout Europe and was responsible for the torture, mutilation, and eventual death through agony of tens of thousands? Was the Christian religion not used as a weapon to kill??? The fact is that Islam is not singularly egregious in your accusations. The only way to stop the killings is to rewrite the bible of islam and start to educate people in the new and improved islam..... (1) There is no "bible" of Islam. That book is called the "Quran". (2) You cannot rewrite a book like the Quran. How would Christians like it if others tried to rewrite their holy book? Let us be serious in our suggestions for a solution to the problem. (3) "educate people in the new and improved Islam"? That sounds like a new diet coke recipe. Are you under the impression that religions are consumer goods? As with any religion, the followers of Islam will outgrow their religion. Then will come a revolution. But it will have to come from the inside. No outside force can rewrite the Quran or educate Muslims in a different religion. That is a very naive suggestion.
