If in those private discussions you pass on classified information to someone who is not cleared to receive it and does not have a need to know, you have committed a crime. And you know it.

The issue we were discussing was pre-publication review. And you know it.

Your responsibility is to report them. You said so yourself.

As is yours and every one elses. Including corporate responsibilities. All those proposals that are submitted to some government entity that include resumes of the affected people should have been submitted for pre-publication review. How many are submitted?

Suppose I tell you I've written software in C under VXWORKS that ran in a ground station command generator unit. Anything classified there? I think not; I've done it for classified and unclassified projects.

And of course you submitted those for pre-publication review.

You are completely missing the issue. We prepare and distribute hundreds, if not thousands of unclassified documents throughout our careers that are never submitted for pre-publication review. [Individual mileage may vary.] It's at least a 6 figure personnel list that has life time pre-publication review requirements; I wouldn't argue with some higher numbers.

These all encompassing pre-publication review "contracts" are nonsense.

Shall the three of us that have discussed this on-line turn each other in? Nothing we said isn't classified, but the pre-publication review requirements does not allow us to make that determination. If it did, then the law would allow us to submit only those publications that the writer deems may be [or are] classified.
