OT ** >> AMAT would have ta get over $14.56 to do that and I'm not imaginin' she's gonna get there real soon).

One advantage for the short side is that all the strong spikes in the past couple of years have been to the down side. I cannot imagine any good news coming from anywhere, with the current people in control in most parts of the world. We are truly scraping along the bottom of the scum pond these days.

OT: As I look over the components of the SOX I note that AMAT and the other SCE stocks were all below their 50 day sma's. This may be why AMAT and the other semi equips have done so well the last couple of days. AMAT's 50 day sma is all the way up at 14.93 which to me does not seem achievable. The 50 day sma on the SOX is now at 313 and rising while the shorter term ema's are all falling but trying to level out. I'm not sure why 303 is serving up so much support for the SOX here but it is and it still seems just as likely that we will try to run up to 313 now as we will break down until 303 gives way on the SOX.

AMAT Chart:

Regardless of what happens I believe we have more downside in store after the holidays.
