That statement from the article means, "No one ever got sick or died from the use of DDT." And believe me, the loonies tried their best to prove otherwise. It used to be tremendously overused, and it's use now is limited as the article points out.

Everything in the world has a cost/benefit ratio. The projected, imagined, damage to other insects and "movement up the food chain" is nothing compared to it's enormous benefits. But it has fallen to the false claims of the loonies.
