You would think this is daring.... a Rep. pardoning a Rep. but others might say it was just another variation on 'pork'.

The point was that Caroline Kennedy, et.al., understood the leadership it took for Ford to make this pardon.

The main point is that only the worst leaders govern by polls. That would be Clinton. Would have been Gore, except that Bush won the election. Thank God.

Certainly, if anyone would know about pork, it the dems , who have mastered it under Bill and Terry. However, in this instance, it also was, according to many, the right thing to do. After seeing what happened in Bill's case, all I can say the reps. avoided a potential big mess, which could have damaged the party. Courage or pork; probably both.
