There's a neat new "eraser" feature that defaults to off... you can now use the eraser as a mouse button. If you tap the eraser quickly once or twice, it will take it as a mouse click. Once you get used to it, it works great!

(I dunno how "new" this is, but they didn't have this several years ago when I had a Thinkpad at work.)

It's an obvious use, and I'm glad they figured out how to make this work.

I'm still trying to decide whether to switch the mouse controls over to the usual "lefty" mode that I normally use. The problem is, though I am left-handed, and prefer to use a mouse with the buttons swapped, when using the eraser, I use my right hand for some reason. With my right index finger on the eraser, this puts the left, "select" button under my right thumb, which is perfect. I have to move my finger off o f the eraser to operate the right, "context menu" button, which is fine, since this is less commonly used.

So, I'd have to switch the mouse control when switching to the use of a mouse, to get my usual left/right swap. It would also be confusing, as I am used to right=select, left=context.

With the "tap the eraser" option, though, everything is perfect. I can put my right index finger on the eraser, and use it for navigation and selection, and use my thumb for context menus, and move my thumb to the middle button to scroll. (It's very awkward to reach the right button with the thumb of your right hand, or the left button with the thumb of your left hand, with your index finger on the eraser...)

Not sure why I use my right hand on the eraser, it just seems to feel right. Maybe I should switch to the left - I think it would force my hands further to the right, and I would get used to the stupid off-center keyboard.

(Geez, I think I should go into a career in ergonomics...)

GfE - HELP SOFTWARE - Has anyone seen some software that shows you what your computer is sending. So that somehow it can display what you are sending real time on a screen or store it for later viewing.
I get worried when I see how much data I am apparently sending and yet so faras Iknow I didn't send anything and I'd like to look at it.

Best,
