"Iran’s inclusion in Bush’s much-misunderstood “axis of evil” is a step forward for Iranian people everywhere, except of course, the religious oppressors in Tehran. It’s a battle cry for help; it’s a cry for long-overdue action on America’s end."

I am sure that's what Bush had in mind when he uttered the words. The welfare of the poor oppressed Iranian people. Why don't the Palestinians deserve the same consideration, me wonders. Strange considering that we could change their lot in life more easily than that of the Iranians.

Here is one writer's take on the rationale (Reza Mahmoodshahi, Published 3/11/2002 in the Cornell Review):

"Iran’s inclusion in Bush’s much-misunderstood “axis of evil” is a step forward for Iranian people everywhere, except of course, the religious oppressors in Tehran. It’s a battle cry for help; it’s a cry for long-overdue action on America’s end."

Oh crap, this is emotional fodder better found in a Hollywood movie glamorizing war and American might.

Show me a poll where the Iranian people are begging for American action. Just as a thought....you don't have one.
