Dividends are not necessarily a good thing. If AMAT gave out dividends, it would have been much harder going through this downturn. I for one, hope AMAT never even considers the idea.

No, I don't think dividends will have a significant affect on share price during an upturn.

Brian, AMAT can pay a dividend and still see a steady increase in cash. Tech dividends are usually much smaller than EPS.
