I would agree that it is a shameful avoidance by the Arabs to make the changes necessary to support their populations. Yeah...that's why we are such strong supporters of Saudi Arabia. Nothing to do with their oil...it's just that we admire their society <<gg>> If you believe this, why do you oppose the US replacing the biggest tyrant in the world today. There is a big gap between supporting a tyrant and forcefully acting to replace him...unilaterally no less. We have done both...with the same guy. Nobody in the world subscribes to American policy of regime change in Iraq (or anywhere else for that matter). And with good reason. Even the adminstration has had to change language and tact on this to disarming him (which is BS of course, and nothing more than an excuse to attack an oil rich nation). Isn't that the basic tenet of Marxism, Associating liberalism with marxism? Now you are completely off the wall...or is this the final conservative demonizing step? The reasons given for that unpopularity, are ridiculous lies. DO you aknowledge the unpopularity? Like you are demanding we do in Iraq. No sir. I am not demanding that we stop working for peace and good there or anywhere. I am demanding that we do it peacefully. But that is a lot harder, isn't it. It's much easier to drop a few bombs, kill a few thousand locals and claim it was for the good of their country anyway. Sickening. Good one. Now you think we should interfere, and install democracies. Would you make up your mind. You should also consider American foreign policy for the last 50 odd years and ask yourself what we have been doing relative to Cuba, China, Vietnam, Korea, the USSR, the Balkans, Indonesia, Malaysia, Central America, etc... Re-read my post and see above. You should ponder longer before you post distortions or extensions of what I write. Au contraire. The US still has troops in Afghanistan Now. Americans tend to want to forget the time when Afghanistan was a tool of American opposition to the USSR and how it was quickly abandoned (to the Taliban and AlQueda) when the USSR pulled out. Not so easy to forget if you are an Afghan or Arab who relates to this and fears that America will do that to his country too. I am sure you could. You are good at making up imagined enemies(Australia now is it)... If you do not travel this will be difficult for you to understand, but we are universally disliked around the world....Australia included. Al
