I feel sorry for you.
After what we went through a few years ago, I know it is no picnic! We don't realize how dependent we are on electricity until we're without it for a day or two or three.

We had gas to cook with, how about you?

I guess if you went to a hotel, you didn't need to cook, though, did you?

Good heavens! You have had more trouble up there! Thankfully, you were one of the fortunate ones. You've had enough.

Back in January of '83 we had a blizzard that lasted 3 days. Only 6" of snow but it kept blowing and drifting so bad they called the plow trucks back in. A guy on a snow mobile took out a power station that fed a nice subdivision 6 miles from town. Three days they had no power and couldn't get out of their drives. No water (wells), no lights, heat or TV. The next spring there were more for sale signs than grass in that area.
