Many of the state constitutions EXPLICITYLY define the right to keep and bear arms as an individual right. The right goes way back before the Constitution, if you want to talk about natural rights. You are saying the NRA would fail because people would stop paying their dues, but that's hogwash. The NRA is composed of people who came to it to give voice to their own deeply held beliefs. That kind of tactic is practiced by ecoterrorist organizations to whip up the poorly informed into a lather about something they know little about but looks good on a Sierra Club calendar. The Sierra Club, PETA, Green Peace -- they are all meddlers and ecoterrorists trying to foment trouble. The NRA is merely trying to prevent other people from interfering in what is and should be sacrosanct individual right. People like yourself, jttmab. I've repeatedly asked you why you care about the Second Amendment since it clearly doesn't affect you in your cloistered Isle over there by Greenwich. You refuse to answer. I can only conclude that you don't know and that you simply like to provoke people whose Moms wear Army Boots. You said: What's funny about that is if you really understood the 2nd and the relationship of arms rights within the States Constitutions and how natural rights fit into the whole picture, you would realize it doesn't make any difference ....it would make one small difference, people would stop paying dues to the NRA and then they couldn't pay all their lawyers.
