What I said is in the past was that we can't afford two wars, and we can't. Already we're running deficits and we are not at war yet with Iraq.

This is ridiculous. If you said, "We can't afford any new interstate highways", or "we can't afford a prescription drug benefit" or "we can't afford the billions in pork going to Byrd's West Virginia", that would be something. But to suggest we can't defend ourselves is just sickening.

This is the idiocy of the liberal thought process. War, no matter what, where or against whom, is ALWAYS affordable. If we reach a time when we can't afford to go to war, we may as well hand the keys over to Saddam.
