Unrelated, but two more words:

USB 2.0!!

Actually, that's three initials and a number, but WOW.

I upgraded my laptop with a PCM/CIA card this weekend and copied 5 GB's worth of digital pics to an external hard drive in minutes. A transfer like this would've taken a very, very long time with USB 1. CD back-ups are much quicker also. Preserving, via back-up, digital pics has become much easier. Now I'm certain I'll be able to cherish all my fuzzy, out-of-focus photos for all eternity...

(Wish I'd have found USB 2.0 sooner.)
