A compromise should be made on tort reform. Not just to protect corporations from extreme penalties but consumers from being able to use the legal system without having to spend a million bucks. I had to sue a big company once and had to use my entire net worth for lawyers. fortunately I settled with a nice profit but I was still ripped off and bullied at every stage. The big companies simply dont give a damn about little guys suing them. That is why someone has to occasionally step in to defend them. So far all we have is litigators. I wish there an easier way, like large claims court as well as small claims court.
