The baby boom presents a difficult challenge to provide care as their generation enters old age. Immigration is helpful to replenish the work force and taxpayers. Age ratios are however much more unbalanced to maintain benefits that were implemented under different demographics. Also, despite some benefits of immigration to combat this shortcoming there is the problem of overloading the country's ability to assimilate foreigners and make them Americans and not lose the American cultural identity. In general curtailing population growth will be a painful experience for all countries. Euthanasia will eventually be offered as a viable solution. * * *
